Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Vensa
General
What is Vensa?
Vensa is an AI-powered virtual try-on solution that lets your customers see how products look on them before purchasing. Available as a Shopify app, WordPress/WooCommerce plugin, and Magento extension, Vensa helps boost conversions and reduce returns by giving shoppers the confidence to buy.
How does the AI try-on work?
Our app uses Google Vertex AI to analyze the customer's photo and the product image, then generates a realistic composite showing the product on the customer. The AI handles pose detection, lighting matching, and fabric draping automatically. The entire process takes under 15 seconds.
Which platforms are supported?
Vensa is available on Shopify (via the Shopify App Store), WordPress/WooCommerce (plugin), and Magento (Composer extension). Each platform has its own native integration optimized for that ecosystem.
What types of products work best?
Virtual try-on works great with clothing (tops, dresses, jackets, hoodies), eyewear, and accessories. We recommend starting with your best-selling products for maximum impact and expanding from there as you see results.
How accurate are the results?
The AI produces highly realistic results that accurately represent how the garment drapes and fits on the customer's body shape. Results are best when both the product image and customer photo are high-quality with good lighting. Note that results are visual approximations — they are not exact size or fit predictions.
Is it available in all countries?
Yes. Vensa is available to merchants worldwide on all three platforms. Your customers can use the try-on feature from any location with an internet connection. The app interface is in English, and the try-on experience works universally regardless of region.
Do I need any coding knowledge?
Not at all. On Shopify, install the app and toggle the app embed on. On WordPress, upload the plugin and activate it. On Magento, install via Composer and run the setup command. All platforms offer a no-code setup that takes just a few minutes.
Setup & Technical
How do I install on Shopify?
Install Vensa from the Shopify App Store, then go to your Theme Editor → App Embeds → toggle on 'Virtual Try-On'. Enable the products you want from the app dashboard. The entire setup takes about 2 minutes — no coding required.
How do I install on WordPress/WooCommerce?
Download the plugin from your Vensa dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin in your WordPress admin, activate it, and enter your license key. Then enable try-on on your products from the Vensa settings page. Works with any WooCommerce-compatible theme.
How do I install on Magento?
Install via Composer using your Vensa auth credentials (composer require vensa/module-virtual-tryon), run bin/magento setup:upgrade, and configure the extension in Stores → Configuration → Vensa. Supports both Luma and Hyvä themes natively.
Does it slow down my website?
No. The try-on widget loads asynchronously and doesn't affect your page speed score or Core Web Vitals. All AI processing happens on our servers, not yours — your store's performance is not impacted.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes. On Shopify, it works with any Online Store 2.0 theme (Dawn, Sense, Craft, and all popular third-party themes). On WordPress, it works with any WooCommerce-compatible theme. On Magento, it supports Luma and Hyvä out of the box.
Can I customize the widget appearance?
Absolutely. You can change button text, colors, border radius, icon, and position (after Add to Cart, before Add to Cart, or floating bubble). Advanced users can add custom CSS for pixel-perfect control. All customization is done from the app dashboard — no code needed.
How do auto-updates work?
On Shopify, updates are automatic via the Shopify platform. On WordPress and Magento, with an active license your plugin/extension will automatically check for new versions and can be updated from your dashboard — just like any other plugin or extension.
Privacy & Security
What happens to customer photos?
Privacy is our top priority. All customer photos are encrypted at rest on Cloudflare R2 and automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We never sell, share, or use customer photos for any purpose beyond generating the try-on result.
Is Vensa GDPR compliant?
Yes. We process photos only for the purpose of generating try-on results. Photos are automatically deleted within 24 hours. No data is shared with third parties beyond our processing infrastructure. See our Data Policy for full GDPR details including legal bases and data subject rights.
Where is the data processed?
Photos are processed using Google Cloud (Vertex AI) in the US region. Images are temporarily cached on Cloudflare R2 (global edge network). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Results and photos are deleted within 24 hours.
Do you use customer photos to train AI models?
Absolutely not. Customer photos are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. Photos are processed solely to generate the virtual try-on result and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. This is a firm commitment in our privacy policy.
What about biometric data laws (BIPA, GDPR)?
We take biometric data regulations seriously. We do not extract, store, or create biometric templates or identifiers from customer photos. No facial recognition is performed. Photos are auto-deleted within 24 hours, and processing is initiated voluntarily by the customer. See our Data Policy for full details on biometric data handling.
Pricing & Billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes! Shopify has a free tier with 10 try-ons/month. WordPress also offers a free plugin with 50 try-ons/month. No credit card required — it's a great way to test the impact on your store before committing to a paid plan.
How does billing work?
Shopify billing is handled monthly through the Shopify billing system — charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice. WordPress and Magento licenses are billed annually via PayPal. All paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. For Shopify, changes are handled through the Shopify billing system. For WordPress and Magento, contact support to adjust your license tier.
What happens when I reach my quota?
On Free and lower-tier plans, the try-on feature will be paused until your quota resets at the start of the next billing cycle. On the Shopify Pro plan, additional try-ons are billed as overage at $0.10 each, capped at $50/month — so your customers are never cut off. You'll receive email notifications as you approach your limit.
What happens when my license expires?
For WordPress and Magento: your plugin/extension will continue to work, but you won't receive updates or support. Try-on functionality depends on your remaining quota. You can renew anytime to restore full functionality and access to updates.
Do you offer enterprise or custom plans?
Yes. For high-volume stores needing more than 2,000 try-ons/month, custom integrations, or dedicated support, contact us at support@vensa.app for tailored enterprise pricing.
Migration & Support
Can I use Vensa on multiple stores?
On Shopify, each store requires its own app installation and plan. For WordPress and Magento, it depends on your license tier: Pro licenses cover 1 site, while Agency (WordPress) and Enterprise (Magento) licenses support up to 5 sites. All licenses include one staging/development domain at no extra cost.
Can I switch from one platform to another?
Yes. If you're migrating your store (e.g., from Shopify to WooCommerce, or WooCommerce to Magento), contact our support team and we'll help transfer your account. Your analytics history will be preserved where possible.
Can I use Vensa on a staging or development site?
Yes. WordPress and Magento licenses include usage on one staging/development domain at no extra cost. Shopify development stores can install the app for testing. Staging usage does not count toward your monthly try-on quota.
What support response time can I expect?
We respond to all support requests within 24 hours on business days. Pro and Enterprise plan customers receive priority support with faster response times. Reach us at support@vensa.app or through our contact form.
