Style rules
The styles you pick in Options apply to every product. A style rule overrides them for specific products or collections, for example showing Size as a dropdown only on your clearance collection.
Suitable for
A collection that needs a different look, products with unusually long value lists, or hiding an option on product cards for one range only.

How a rule works
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Applies to | The products and collections the rule targets. |
| What changes | For each option, a different style on the product page and on cards, or Hide on product cards. Options left on No change keep their usual style. |
| Rule is on | Turn a rule off to pause it without deleting it. |
| Order | When two rules touch the same option, the lower one in the list wins. |
Prerequisites
A rule points options at a style, so the style you want must exist first. Built-in styles are always available; to use a custom look, create the style before the rule.
The rules list
- Each rule shows its name, a summary such as 3 targets, 2 changes, an Active or Off badge, and its coverage.
- Search by rule name, and filter by Active or Inactive.
- Use the arrows to move rules up and down, the pencil to edit, and the bin to delete.
- Select several rules to Activate, Deactivate or Delete them together.
Note
Rules reach your storefront through product tags, one per rule. See How coverage tags work.
