Email templates
Write a separate message for each alert, insert product variables and save the templates with your shared branding. The Email page lets you preview drafts and send a sample to an inbox you control.
Choose the template you want to change
| Email template | When it is used |
|---|---|
| Back in stock | A qualifying restock subscription; can be rendered as a single item or hourly digest. |
| Price drop | A matching saved item reaches the configured reduction threshold. |
| Low stock | A matching saved item has eligible low inventory. |
| Wishlist reminder | The automatic daily reminder job checks for items saved at least a week ago, with a 30-day reminder cooldown. |
If the selected alert is disabled, the editor displays This alert is turned off, so this email won’t send. You can still edit it. Turn the corresponding switch on in Alerts when ready; editing the email does not enable the trigger.
Write and save the message
- 1
Select Email template
Open Email and choose the type at the top of the first card. Changes to different templates remain in the page's draft while you switch between them.
- 2
Write the inbox text
Enter Subject and optional Preheader. For a restock, a subject such as
{product} is available againmakes the item clear. The preheader is the short text shown beside or below the subject in many inboxes. - 3
Write Heading and Body
Use a short heading and explain why the shopper received the message. Click into the field at the desired cursor position, then use the Insert variable buttons rather than inventing your own variable names.
- 4
Set the action label
Enter Button label, such as Shop now or View product. The app supplies the destination from the saved item's product and variant. There is no separate URL field for the main action.
- 5
Save all edits
Click Save in the save bar. The page saves all four template drafts and the branding together. If validation fails, check the highlighted template/field, including another template you edited earlier.
Supported variables
| Variable | Example value | When data is absent |
|---|---|---|
| {product} | Classic Tee | Uses a generic item name if a title is unavailable. |
| {variant} | Navy / Medium | Can be empty for a product-level item or default variant. |
| {price} | The formatted item price | Can be empty when no price is available. |
| {shopper_name} | Alex | Uses “there”, so “Hi {shopper_name}” still reads naturally. |
Avoid wording that relies on every item having a variant title. For example, Your saved item is available again: {product}. works for both product-level and variant-specific items, while a sentence made entirely from {variant} can become empty.
Format the Body
Body supports line breaks, leading-space indentation, **bold**, *italic* and links written as [text](https://...). Raw HTML is not a replacement for that syntax. Keep formatting focused on the message and verify it in the preview.
Hi {shopper_name},
**{product} is available again.**
The item you saved is ready to shop.
Open the product to check current availability.| Field | Limit |
|---|---|
| Subject | Required, up to 120 characters. |
| Preheader | Optional, up to 140 characters. |
| Heading | Required, up to 120 characters. |
| Body | Required, up to 2,000 characters. |
| Button label | Required, up to 30 characters. |
Reset a template
Select the template, then click Reset to default. This restores that selected template's starting text in the draft. Inspect the result and save to use it for future messages. Reset does not replace the shared brand settings.
