Alerts
Choose which item changes should generate email, configure their thresholds and decide when guests provide an address. Finish by testing one real event and inspecting the Alert log.
Choose the right trigger
| Type | What the shopper needs | What makes it eligible |
|---|---|---|
| Back in stock | A waiting subscription to a specific variant and an email address. | That tracked variant becomes sellable. |
| Price drop | A saved item with a usable saved-price baseline and an email address. | The current price is below its saved price by at least your threshold. |
| Low stock | A matching saved item and an email address. | Positive inventory is at or below your threshold and the reminder cap is not used up. |
Set up the three cards
- 1
Review Back in stock
Turn on Send back-in-stock alerts and choose Immediately or Batch hourly. It starts enabled with immediate delivery. The restock guide explains subscriptions and timing.
- 2
Review Price drop
Set Send price-drop alerts, choose Percentage or Fixed amount under Minimum drop, then enter Threshold. The starting threshold is 5%. For example, a 10% setting compares each item's current price with the price that shopper saved.
- 3
Decide whether to use Low stock
It starts off. If useful for your store, enable Send low-stock alerts, enter When stock falls to, and set Max reminders per shopper. The initial values are 5 units and one reminder.
- 4
Review Guest email
Choose whether to ask at save time or only when subscribing. If Require double opt-in is on, make confirmation part of your test. Save all changes using the save bar.
Email content is configured separately
The Alerts screen chooses eligibility and timing. Email chooses subject, body, logo and sender name. A polished template will not activate a disabled trigger, and switching a trigger on will use the currently saved template. Open both screens before your first live test.
Automatic wishlist reminders
Email also contains a Wishlist reminder template. The app's daily job can remind a shopper about an item saved at least seven days earlier, provided they have an eligible address and no reminder record in the previous 30 days. There is no separate reminder enable switch among the three Alerts cards.
Sending limits
| Rule | Meaning for your setup |
|---|---|
| Three alert messages in a rolling 24 hours | Normal delivery checks stop a shopper receiving too many messages across types. An hourly digest counts as one message for this check. |
| Repeat suppression | The same shopper, variant and alert type normally cannot repeat within 24 hours; price-drop uses seven days. |
| Restock debounce | Repeated restock processing within 30 minutes is suppressed. |
| Unsubscribe and confirmation | Normal sends require an address, no unsubscribe, and confirmation when double opt-in is enabled. |
These limits explain why repeating the same test immediately can produce no new email. Use the first-alert procedure to separate a fresh test from a repeat.
