Virtual Try-On

Customer segments

Segment visibility lets you offer try-on to selected groups of signed-in customers, or combine those groups with guest access.

Configure segment visibility

  1. 1

    Prepare a Shopify segment

Create the desired segment under Customers → Segments in Shopify admin. Return to or refresh the app so it can load the segment list.

  2. 2

    Choose a segment mode

In Try-On → Visibility, select Customers in specific segments or Guests + specific segments.

  3. 3

    Select the allowed segments

Choose at least one segment under Allow access to customers in, then save.

  4. 4

    Test a matching customer

Sign into the storefront as a customer who belongs to a selected segment and open an eligible product. Also check a customer who should not have access.

Why the button may appear after the page loads

For signed-in visitors in segment modes, the widget waits for a membership check before showing the button. A failed or unsuccessful check can keep it hidden. The result is briefly cached in the browser session, so test a fresh session when diagnosing a recent audience change.

When no segments are shown

Use the app's No customer segments found message as a cue to check Shopify's segment list. If segments exist but are absent in the app, refresh the app and contact support with the segment name. A segment-based setting cannot be saved without at least one selection.
