Virtual Try-On

Email delivery

Connect your own SMTP server, verify its credentials and send a real test message. The app also provides a built-in mailer, so a custom server is optional.

Prepare your server details

Get the SMTP credentials from your email provider. A normal account password may differ from its SMTP credential; follow that provider's instructions and the hint shown for the selected preset. Also confirm which sender addresses your account is allowed to use.

FieldWhat to enter
Email providerSelect a matching preset, or Custom / other. Presets fill server defaults; they do not connect an account automatically.
Server addressThe SMTP hostname supplied by your provider.
Port and SSLUse the provider's values. The app's SSL option is intended for port 465; port 587 is secured through the transport's upgrade process.
Username / PasswordYour SMTP login and credential.
Send alerts fromAn email address authorized by that server.
Replies go toThe inbox that should receive customer replies. Leaving it empty uses the shop email.

Connect and test

  1. 1

    Enable your server

Open Settings → Email delivery and turn on Use my own email server. Select your provider. To override a preset's host or port, choose Edit server settings.

If the app says You can't connect a server right now, the connection option is unavailable. Use the displayed support action; there is no additional credential you can enter to remove this restriction.

  2. 2

    Enter credentials and sender addresses

Fill the required fields. The sender's display name is configured under Email → Branding. The address in Send alerts from belongs here in Settings.

  3. 3

    Select Test connection

Under Check it works, run Test connection. This saves the submitted configuration and checks the SMTP connection. A successful connection does not send an email to your customer or test an inventory event.

  4. 4

    Send an inbox test

Enter your address in Send a test to and click Send test. Look for SMTP test from your wishlist app, including in spam. Verify the From address, then reply and check that the reply reaches the intended inbox.

  5. 5

    Check the customer template

Open Email, select a template and use its own Send test to inspect your branded customer message. Complete a real restock test to check subscription, inventory and delivery together.

Tests also save the configuration

Both Settings test actions save valid submitted server settings before testing. A later connection failure, invalid test recipient or rate-limit error does not roll those settings back. Reopen the form and restore the previous values if necessary.

Replace or remove a saved password

A saved password appears masked. Leaving it unchanged retains the stored credential. Choose Replace to enter a new one, or Remove to explicitly clear it. Use the available Cancel or Undo control before saving if you change your mind. An enabled connection requires both a username and password.

Understand failures and fallback

The Settings SMTP test sends directly through the configured server and does not use fallback. Live alerts and template tests from Email first try your enabled server; if that fails, they attempt the app's built-in mailer. Receiving a template test therefore does not prove that your SMTP connection worked. Check the connection result and any last-error banner in Settings.

Fallback is an additional delivery attempt, not a guarantee of inbox delivery. If both routes fail, investigate the failed entry in Alert log. A previously Connected badge should also be checked against the most recent error.
