Product and variant images
The AI needs a person photo and a product photo. The widget starts from the product's featured image and can switch to the selected variant's assigned image when the theme's variant changes are detected.
Prepare the product photo
- The product has a featured image that clearly shows the item to try on.
- The item is large enough to see, with minimal obstruction or distracting text.
- Variants with different appearances have their own matching images assigned in Shopify.
- Your theme's variant picker correctly changes its selected variant and image.
Verify variant switching
- 1
Assign images in Shopify
Open the product in Shopify admin and check the images assigned to variants with different colors or designs.
- 2
Select a variant on the storefront
Use the theme's picker before starting a new try-on. Wait for the selected product image to update.
- 3
Generate and check the cart
Run a test and compare the product used for generation with the selected variant. Check the cart item separately; a saved result is not regenerated automatically when you change a variant.
Variants without an assigned photo
Do not assume every variant selection will produce a different input photo. If an assigned image is missing or the theme's change is not detected, the widget can retain its current product photo. Assign the correct image and test your theme.
Prepare the person photo
Use a clear photo with one person, even lighting and the relevant body area visible. For clothing, the upload instructions default to a full-body photo. JPEG, PNG and WebP are accepted up to 10 MB. Convert a phone photo from another format before uploading if necessary.
What the result means
The output is an AI visualization. Product textures, proportions and details may differ from the physical item. Use the product's size chart for sizing information.
