Install and enable the app
Installing the Shopify app gives you the admin screens. Enabling Vensa Wishlist Widget in the theme editor loads the shopper-facing wishlist. Complete both, then test the theme visitors actually use.
Install and open
Install Vensa: Wishlist, Back in Stock through Shopify and open it from Apps. The Dashboard contains a Get started checklist. Keep the app open in one tab and the theme editor in another so you can return to configuration after saving the theme.
Enable Vensa Wishlist Widget
- 1
Open the theme editor
On Dashboard → Get started, expand Enable wishlist on your theme and click Enable on theme. Check the theme name in the editor before making changes.
- 2
Switch on the embed
In App embeds, locate Vensa Wishlist Widget and turn it on. Click the theme editor's Save button. Leaving the editor with the switch on but without saving does not publish that choice.
- 3
Open a storefront product
Use a product published to the Online Store. Refresh the product tab after saving the theme. The standard starting placement is after Add to Cart.
Select a variant, save it and reopen the wishlist from the header or floating icon. Seeing the button alone does not verify that the saved list is reachable.
- 4
Check the app's status
Return to the app and use the theme status check when shown. The app's theme status refers to the published theme. If you enabled the widget only on an unpublished theme, its preview can work while the published-theme status remains inactive.
App embed and page block
| Theme component | When you need it |
|---|---|
| Vensa Wishlist Widget app embed | Required for the storefront controls and saved-list rendering. |
| Wishlist page app block | Needed when you use a custom Shopify page for the full wishlist. Add it to that page's template. |
| Built-in app page | Works through the embed without creating a Shopify page or adding the page block. |
A block alone is not enough
The Wishlist page block provides a place for the saved list. The app embed loads the widget that fills it. If the page heading appears but no list loads, check both parts.
When the first test does not work
| What you see | Next action |
|---|---|
| No product button | Confirm the embed was saved on the correct theme, then check Display → Wishlist button → Position on product page. |
| Button in preview only | Enable the embed on the published theme if it should be live. |
| Product button works, card hearts do not | Check Show wishlist icon on product cards and the selected surfaces in Display. |
| Save works, but you cannot reopen the list | Enable the floating button or correct the header icon position. |
| Shopify wishlist page is blank | Add Wishlist page to its template and keep the embed enabled. |
After publishing another theme
Repeat the embed check on the newly published theme. Custom product, image, card and header selectors refer to theme elements and may need updating. Test one product, one card and the saved-list view after changing themes.
