Why did editing one style change several options?

Styles are shared. Every option assigned to a style uses it, so saving a change to the style updates all of them. That's why the editor warns you with Used by N options before you save.

Change one option only

  1. 1

    Duplicate the style

In Styles, open the style's menu and click Duplicate.

  2. 2

    Edit the copy

Rename it, make your change, and click Save. Nothing else is affected yet.

  3. 3

    Assign the copy

In Options, pick the copy for the one option that should look different, and click Save.

To change the look for some products only, rather than a whole option, use a style rule.

Tip

Shared styles are a time saver: when you want every colour option to grow a size, you change one style instead of ten options.
