Why can't I see swatches on my product page?

Almost always, one of five things is the cause. Work through them in order.

  1. 1

    Check the app block

On the Dashboard, the Product page card should say Active. If it says Not added, click Add to product page and save the theme editor. See Add swatches to product pages.

Using more than one product template? The block must be on the template this product uses.

  2. 2

    Check the product has variants

A product with a single default variant has nothing to choose, so the app draws nothing. Only a product group adds a swatch row to such a product.

  3. 3

    Check your coverage

In Where it applies, make sure the product isn't excluded, and that tagging has finished (the Sync status card no longer says Applying tags...). See Show swatches on selected products only.

  4. 4

    Check for Theme default

If any option on the product uses the Theme default style, the app steps back for the whole product. Check the product's options in Options, and use Test with a product on the Style rules page in case a rule sets it.

  5. 5

    Refresh and check your theme

Refresh the product page with a hard reload. If swatches still don't appear, your theme may need an adjustment on our side: click Chat with us on the Dashboard and send us your theme name and a product link.
