Why does a value show no colour?
An empty swatch, or a value shown as text, has one of three causes.
| What you see | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| An empty chip, with the name on hover | The value has no colour or image yet. | Set one on the option's Values page. See Set a colour for each value. |
| Text instead of a colour | The option uses a button or dropdown style, which show text. | Pick a colour style in Options. See Choose a display style. |
| An empty chip on a Variant image or Polaroid style | The variant has no image of its own, and no colour or image is mapped as a fallback. | Set the variant's image in Shopify, or map a colour to the value. |
Find every value that needs a colour

Open Options
Rows with a Missing badge have values without a colour or image.

Click Edit and filter
Tick Show missing only, or click Suggest colours if it appears.

Set colours and save
Set each value, then click Save.
Tip
Remember to click Save after applying colours. Until then they're only a draft.
