Virtual Try-On

Before you uninstall

Export the records you need and copy your configuration before removing the app. If you only want a temporary change, first identify whether you want to hide the widget or stop particular alerts.

Keep the information you need

  1. 1

    Export shoppers

Open Wishlist Items → Shoppers → Export subscribers and download the CSV. Open it to verify the columns and records before uninstalling. The export has a 10,000-record ceiling and is not a complete backup of wishlist items, delivery logs or settings.

The export does not include all consent, confirmation or unsubscribe state. Review its intended use rather than treating every row as a marketing subscriber.

  2. 2

    Copy your configuration

Keep the text of all four email templates, branding values, Display settings, custom selectors and Custom CSS. Record any custom wishlist page URL and the theme template used by that page.

  3. 3

    Review pending work

Check Alert log for recent and scheduled activity. If you are replacing the app, plan the replacement's storefront placement and notification setup independently; the shopper CSV is not an automatic migration of waiting alerts.

  4. 4

    Uninstall in Shopify

Remove the app using Shopify's app management. The app's uninstall handler marks the shop uninstalled and removes app sessions. Stored shop data is subsequently deleted when Shopify's shop-redaction event is processed; uninstalling is not a promise of an immediately recoverable archive.

  5. 5

    Check the storefront

Visit a product page, collection page and the previous wishlist URL. Review any Shopify page, menu link or dedicated theme template you created. Remove or repurpose a wishlist page and its navigation link if they no longer provide a useful destination.

Data deletion and reinstalling

The shop-redaction handler removes the shop record and associated shoppers, saved items, subscriptions, settings and logs, along with remaining app sessions. Do not assume those records will still exist after reinstalling. Contact support before uninstalling if you need information beyond the visible shopper export.

A temporary display change is separate

Turning the embed back on can restore the storefront widget while the app remains installed. It does not undo changes made to alert settings, deleted browser data or removed Shopify pages.
